John and I met on match.com in early July 2017. John is from Louisiana and had moved up to Michigan for a job. We had a spontaneous first date at Osgood brewery on a Thursday night after work. Our first real date was at a sketchy mini-golf course followed by a festival in Grand Rapids. 8 months later I came home from working a 12 hour shift and he was waiting around the corner all dressed up and the living room was full of balloons with pictures of us hanging from each of them.
